A thing I made for some reason or another recently. A "Fall Festival," I am told. The creature at the right is the mascot for the local high school which I never attended. According to a sign visible from the highway road, the bee is associated with a marching band and nothing else. They're a bunch of surly kids, I guess.

The trolley is also a recognizable symbol, which can currently also be seen from the highway right outside the Holiday Inn Express. East Haven is a real classy joint on a municipal level. They have to advertise at the highway because under reasonable circumstances that is as much of the town as anybody would ever see.

The canon is usually located near the gazebo in the distance, but in this picture it isn't.

I don't think the trolley actually has a bell thing to pull at the front (I can't find anything that looks like a BELL), but I can imagine a dork like nemitz (the dork that is pulling something) having one installed just for the purpose of looking stupid while using it. Nemitz nemitz nemitz.

I was admiring what an adventure they seem to be having, when I noticed the bee looked bored with their shenanigans. Although perhaps a silly straw is far more interesting than a trolley when one sees one every day.
And then I realized perhaps I wouldn't want to try it myself- they seem to be under attack from the pinecone forces.

Any room for one more? :XD:

Thank you! But one more what?

I guess this is a regular occurrence. I haven't lived there in a few years, so things could have changed.

As for the bee's business, one problem may be that you assume the straw is silly. Anthropomorphous bees wearing sweaters take spirally, twisty drinking aids very seriously.

Regarding your third issue, you ought to be safe as long as the trolley's owner did not purchase pine cone insurance. That ensures there will be pine cones. Many people are fooled.

Surely that's an anthropomorphic wasp, considering the aforementioned highway sign declares the marching band in question to be called the "Yeller Jackets". The mascot in question, however, much seems to prefer a yeller sweater, further adding to our mislabeling woes. Oh my oh me.

One more person, I want to jump on that bus :XD:

Just joking! ;)

I know it is a wasp; I call it a bee to hurt its feelings. This is similar to why I will refer to a sheep as a goat or to a pelican as a defective duck. I intended to address all issues related to the bee in the longer website piece I was writing about this, but I'm not so sure I want to risk exposing my plan to the bee.

I can't even read the words "yellow jackets" in that picture unless I zoom in on it. I didn't think anybody who looked at it here would bother attempting a decipherment. As usual, you went beyond the call of duty and for that we salute you. "We" being me and the partially dressed bee that doesn't even know what it's partially dressed in.

I remember, when they used to frequently test tram conductors to make sure they're not Nemitz. Now any dope can get their hands behind the driving wheel.

Rant aside, I do enjoy the fancy head-wear and outfits these minutemen have on. The way the trolley is modified, hanging midair promotes action, but I fear they could not survive any battle. Maybe Elpse might... no, nevermind.

*smiles* Just something awesomely charming about this. I love the use of only 2 colors (besides black and white). It really adds a lot of impact to the overall picture.

As always, the composition and expressions on your characters gives them such wonderful personalities. I particularly love the bee in the background, sipping through a crazy straw. Such little touches do an awesome job at capturing the mood and feel of the piece. :D
